“AI Anime Hero Reluctantly Returns… Again” DevLog
I’ve been amazed at how well this latest episode turned out. It concerns Hedra’s latest Character 3 update, which allowed me to animate Ayumi better during her talking scenes. It’s pretty impressive but still has its flaws and glorifies; luckily, the glitches were something I wanted to include as it suits the aesthetics of the anime.
Then there is Runway Gen 4, which allowed me to move Ayumi about, especially having her get up from the scene where she is sitting down and walking off the market. It’s imperfect, but I improved everything from the last two episodes.
I used Pika for most of the sword fight scene and ran out of credits, which meant switching to Gen 4. However, the sword movements were janky and unusable, so I ended up having to loop the fighting sequence. Again. I was after that janky look, so my lack of skill is handy here.
I put the intro scene together using Runway Editor so I could layer and use the green screen function. Finally, I lowered the frame rate per second from 30 to 15 FPS as I wanted a less smooth, more jerky animation.
